The Sandwich Guy

My kind of guy - The Sandwich Guy. That is a bad pun but whatever. This post is however, dedicated to the sandwich lovers out there (*coughs*).

Aesthetically wise, they did a good job at the details which is a plus for me because I take everything into consideration. The interior is very smart with the hexagon shape which you can obviously find on the sandwich and the tables and chairs. The sandwiches look good too as you can see in the photos below.

As for the taste, tasty but not overbearing because you'll still be able to taste the wheat bread. Mushy Bacon is worth every penny. Well, you can't go wrong with bacon but there is just something very comforting to the taste buds when it comes to the combination of bacon and mushroom melt - a foodgasmic experience. In the case of Angry Beef, still yummy but it would have been better if the chili con carne taste would turn up because the veggies took over the meaty taste and as the name implies it should explode with some crazy beef action. But I still liked it though.

New Delight: GoNuts Donuts' Cookie Butter Donut

So, the recent rave in the category of spreads is Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter. Nutella jars must be so jealous because the pre selling of these jars are always sold out.

And now, Gonuts Donuts have definitely seen the hype, adapted its taste and made their own tasty mix to it by having the glazed donut topped with the cookie butter. It was first released on April 1, 2013. The cookie butter itself tastes cinnamon, with a little gingery kick (Maybe that's just me imagining the taste.) and what I like about this is that it doesn't have that over the top sweetness that makes you wanna leave the donut unfinished and with classic glaze it's just a perfect combination.

All in all, it is a delish flavor and a great addition to its other flavors and I must say that it truly is a piece of heaven in your hands.

The price is Php 36.00 per piece and Php 285.00 per dozen.

If you haven't tried this, and go ahead and grab yours now. They are available at:

  • SM North EDSA
  • SM Makati
  • SM Mall of Asia
  • Market! Market!
  • Shopwise Arcade, Araneta Center

The flavors are so crazy! I want to taste all of them. The downer is that it costs 100+ for a scoop and it melts really fast.

Abe Filipino Restaurant

Went to BGC to actually celebrate my father's birthday in the newly opened IHOP (International House of Pancakes) but unfortunately we were on the waiting list like the 40th on the list. Irritated by the thought of having to starve for the birthday celebration just for pancakes my father decided to dine in Abe. Abe is a Filipino Restaurant with a strong accent of Capampangan.

The taste of the food here is so rich. My personal favorites are the binagoongang baboy, kaldereta, crispy pata and kare - kare. What I didn't like so much was the Sinigang na Tanigue sa bayabas because it wasn't sour it was sweet most likely because they added cinammon in it.

Samgyeopsal All-You-Can

I am a korean food junkie. It all started with my love for kimchi at such a young age then came the korean dramas. When I saw Yoon Eun Hye ate those yummy looking jjajangmyun, I couldn' t help but want to taste it too. So, the first korean food that I've eaten aside from kimchi is the "samgyeopsal" or pork belly thanks to my college friend who introduced it to me. It was a match made in heaven you know, me + korean food = love. I have a knack on spotting for different korean restaurants and compare prices and the taste. So far, Daeyang Korean Restaurant is the best when it comes to providing you quality and quantity which leads to its mouth drooling and glutton friendly "Unlimited Samgyeopsal" for only 350 php. Wow, that just beats every korean restaurant I've been to. Inclusive of unlimited rice and soup too.
